Sorry Daddy-o

My dad called me the other day, it was so sweet of him to think of me. While we don’t talk much, it’s just so nice to hear his voice and know that I’m still his little girl. Lately, the first words out of his mouth are “so when are you moving back” Lately I’ve been responding “hopefully next December, and if not then May of 2009″

A little bit of everything (pictures included)

Well today has come and gone. What I thought was going to be a dull, long, drawn out day turned out to be quite nice. Since I am so ready for this baby to come, he has decided to take his sweet time. I’m a little antsy, so I’ve had to get creative with how I spend my days after all is said and done. Today was no different.

Menu Plan Monday

banner

Baby boy is STILL not here, nevertheless I have my next two weeks of menus planned and they are all easy, with the IDEA in mind that I can go in to labor at any given moment (yeah, wish me luck with that one- I’m sooo ready to meet this little guy)

Over the weekend we set up my tub
and also our christmas tree. Our living room in our apartment is a little crowded right now. It’s amazing how when you have to make things work, you do. Jonny loved helping with the christmas tree. Enjoy the pics. (to be posted as soon as i remember how to ;)

My tub is here!!!!!!!

We can now officially say that baby boy can come anytime now.

(NOTE: Just for the record, my sons name is Jonathan and my husbands name is Hans- I thought I might try and keep those things private, but since I link to other places that clearly give away our identity and several of you have left comments with my families names in them it’s pretty much a lost cause)

I gave birth to Jonathan at home and we are planning this birth to be at home as well. I am anticipating having another wonderful experience in the comfort of my own home.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to all a good night. It was a lovely day. I spent 98% of it inside cooking, cleaning, eating and playing games inside. The other 2% was to go outside to take the garbage out and to lock the back gate so my son wouldn’t get out.

Flylady drop out

I don’t know how many of you have ever heard of Flylady, but for about 2 years or so I was a “faithful” follower. Ok, ok..I hardly ever wore lace up shoes, and didn’t really get to bed on time or get up early, but for the most part I was a good little girl with my routines in place. While browsing blogs the other day, I noticed one lady had listed in her ‘about me’ page that she was a Flylady dropout! I thought that was so funny and something worth writing about because I am in the same boat now. See?!…..

Menu Plan Monday

banner

I typically make extras for dinner so then we have leftovers for lunch the next day. If we don’t have leftovers then we eat something simple- sandwiches, soup..etc. For breakfast we usually have cereal, fruit and milk or oatmeal, pancakes…whatever I feel like making- we usually have it all on hand.
So without further adieu, this weeks menu, in no particular order

roast beef

so i’m really bad at making roast beef in the crockpot, and i’m doubly bad at making gravy of any kind- my kind hubby was so nice as to butter me up and say that our sunday dinner was great- i thought it was horrible. the meat was dry and my gravy had lumps. i consider myself a good cook- but where meat and gravy is concerned i’m about as smart as dirt. does anyone have any tips? I filled the crockpot up to the brim with water- does that make a difference as to how juicy the meat turns out? Any advice regarding meat and gravy would be greatly appreciated.
