Our happy Christmas

Christmas came and Christmas went.  This was the first year we had Christmas “on our own” without any “family” nearby.  While it was slightly depressing to not have family members around to laugh and joke and play with into the wee hours of the night, we did have a wonderful blessed time together building memories and bonding closer together in our little family.  (more…)

Church today and thoughts on preschool

Today Jonathan was in his first primary program.  He didn’t sing any of the songs, though he sings them at home.  He said his part really fast which I’m surprised he did even that- he gets kind of quiet in front of people.  His teacher is so sweet and she helped him.  After he said his part he was kind of confused and didn’t know where to go…he ran to the left of the “stage” then the right of the “stage” and finally figured out to sit back down.  He was eyeing Lachlan though to make sure he didn’t play with his motorcycles. Another boy in his class recited an average sized scripture and everyone in the audience was so impressed.  I was reminded that we need to get back into some form of scripture study for our family.

W.O.P.S

See that fun new picture linky on my sidebar over there?
Isn’t it so cute? Beth over at The Natural Mommy is starting up this brilliant group so we all can be of support to each other. One day we’ll be out of school- but until then come and join the fun as a fellow W.O.P.

A little bit of everything (pictures included)

Well today has come and gone. What I thought was going to be a dull, long, drawn out day turned out to be quite nice. Since I am so ready for this baby to come, he has decided to take his sweet time. I’m a little antsy, so I’ve had to get creative with how I spend my days after all is said and done. Today was no different.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to all a good night. It was a lovely day. I spent 98% of it inside cooking, cleaning, eating and playing games inside. The other 2% was to go outside to take the garbage out and to lock the back gate so my son wouldn’t get out.

Two Dinner invitations and a plan…

We were invited to dinner this Sunday by two different couples- How nice. The unfortunate thing is that I have no idea what the couple that caught us first is going to be making. I know the second couple is planning on making a thanksgiving dinner. Oh YUM! I love Thanksgiving dinner- it’s right up there with split pea soup, bean and cheese burritos w/red chili sauce (homemade), and winter squash on my list of favorites. I’m sad I’ll be missing that, but I’m glad we have friends.

my friend Janae

Today my son and I went to play group at the park. We had fun- he with his friends, and me with mine. We all kept an eye on our kids while enjoying each others company. All was going well until 1 little girl hit another little girl- not so much because she was mad, but just because of the reaction. The mom of the hitter was quite embarrassed and the mom of the hittee was very understanding. The mom of the hittee is my good friend Janae. I learned so much about her from this incident.
