Changes

Well we made it to the bay area and we found a house and we’ve been here for two weeks (in the house).  It’s been a crazy three weeks.

Reasons

Life has been interesting lately.  I haven’t blogged because I’ve been feeling less than chipper emotionally.  I want people that come to my blog to be strengthened and uplifted, but how can I lift others when I am feeling down myself?  It’s all very disheartening.  Last time I invited you all to stop by I [...]

Our love story

I haven’t blogged in a while for various reasons, but I thought I would jump back in with posting our love story.  Laura over at Heavenly Homemakers is hosting a “carnival” of love stories and I thought this would be a fun one to join in.  So here goes…the story of how we ended up [...]

One of many V.E.E.E.’s (Very Exciting Encouraging Experiences)

Lately, I have been searching, pondering and praying over what I could do to combat the problem of pornography.  Many years ago, when Hans and I were first married and living in BYU married student housing, I was privileged to hear JoAnn Hibbert Hamilton speak in our ward.  As the founder of http://www.strengthenthefamily.net/. One day at a time

Things have been going well around here lately.  I’m not sure if it’s because the weather makes me ten times happier, I’m doing the right things or because a big trial is about to present itself in my life.  Either way, I’m doing my best to live one day at a time and enjoy each [...]

Our right to vote and how I’m going to CHANGE the WORLD!!!

I hope you all know that this Tuesday is Election Day.  I also hope that you are all planning on voting and having your voice be heard.  I’ve always had a so-so attitude about voting.  This year, however, I got a very powerful email (at least for me) from my dear friend Sue.  After reading [...]

Church today and thoughts on preschool

Today Jonathan was in his first primary program.  He didn’t sing any of the songs, though he sings them at home.  He said his part really fast which I’m surprised he did even that- he gets kind of quiet in front of people.  His teacher is so sweet and she helped him.  After he said [...]

Mirror, mirror on the wall…who is the Erin est of them all?

The older my children get, the more I see them reflecting back to me what kind of a person I am. First it showed up in Jonathans level of patience. Thankfully that has been taken care of simply because I was so aware of it at that point in time, and realized I needed [...]

I just don’t get it!

Some things I just don’t get.
Lately, I’ve been catching myself anytime I say “yeah” or “nope”…instead of the much more appropriate “yes please” or “no thank you” respectively. I think our mothers must have been on to something because I don’t feel quite as refined when I toss around yeps and nopes all day. [...]
